On November 17, the video conference of the board of directors of the International Federation of textile manufacturers (hereinafter referred to as "IFN") was held in Beijing. All previous presidents and members of the board of directors of the International Textile Federation attended the meeting. Sun Ruizhe, chairman of the International Textile Federation and President of China Textile Federation, presided over the meeting.

Although global economic activity has been recovering steadily, the road ahead is still difficult. The global supply chain is being impacted by the outbreak of new pneumonia, the surge in consumer demand, labor shortage and overseas production delays. Sun Ruizhe pointed out that 2022 is approaching, we should bravely shoulder the responsibility of the times, firmly move forward towards the goal of building a community of common destiny for textile and clothing, and focus on the following things.

First, focus on people. In the face of this century's test, all economies and all sectors of society have always adhered to the supremacy of the people and life, and maintained the resilience of the people - health, good education and social protection. In this difficult period, the needs and expectations of all participants in the textile industry chain and supply chain should be taken into account. The dignity and rights of all textile people as producers, investors and consumers should be maintained and recognized to promote equitable growth and social inclusion.

Second, focus on climate and sustainability - developing a low-carbon economy to address climate change. China Textile Federation is committed to integrating the advantageous resources of the government, industry management departments, think tanks, scientific research institutions and technical institutions in the global industrial chain, helping textile enterprises explore their own sustainable development path through research and development, technology and product innovation, as well as personnel training, and make contributions to the national carbon emission goals.

Third, focus on Innovation - to ensure that technological development plays an important role in promoting industry inclusiveness and long-term growth. At present, new formats characterized by networked manufacturing, mass customization and shared manufacturing are booming; Mobile Internet technology, AI technology and so on continue to innovate circulation formats, shopping scenes and service experience. In China, the textile and clothing industry is becoming the most active industry in mode innovation such as social e-commerce and live e-commerce.

Fourth, focus on Trade and cooperation - the growth engine that has benefited our industry for decades. Textile sector is the practitioner and contributor of international industry chain and supply chain. The recent problems in the global supply chain are not only caused by the epidemic situation, but also by unilateralism and protectionism. We should adhere to the principle of inclusive governance, promote industrial connectivity, promote the process of free trade, maintain the stability of the industrial chain, and build an open world economy.

Sun Ruizhe said that the International Textile Federation has become an important platform for the practice of multilateralism in the global textile industry, belonging to both its members and the world. He expressed his gratitude to the board of directors and the Secretariat for their hard work over the past year and for their contributions to the International Textile Federation. As chairman, he will continue to do his best to help strengthen and develop the International Textile Federation, ensuring that it continues to serve the textile industry around the world.

At the meeting, sun Ruizhe also communicated with the participants on the logistics and labor shortage problems faced by the industry, and shared the experience and practice of China's textile industry in improving productivity. Xu Yingxin, director of the International Textile Federation and vice president of the China Textile Industry Federation, reported to the board of directors the progress of the application for the 2022 International Textile Federation awards on behalf of the Award Committee of the International Textile Federation, and introduced the relevant work of the Committee.
